I DJ’d at a 21st birthday party in a local pub and have to admit to being a little concerned that there would be enough space for my show. It was a bit of a squeeze but managed to fit in without encroaching too much into the pub itself! The party had hired the pub for the evening so had the run of the place and it is a lovely pub – The Golden Lion in Southwick, a traditional country pub that I may have to go back to when not working for a meal.
It was a fantastic evening, all the guests were lovely with some great requests throughout the evening and lots of dancing which is nice to see as never quite sure how pub gigs will go but lots of smiles, energetic dancing and lots of singing to Taylor Swift songs by the birthday girl and her friends.
I had a great time myself, spent a large part of the evening with a smile on my face while doing some excellent boogieing behind the DJ console and lovely feedback from the lady who booked me: “We all had a fantastic evening, thank you so much for providing a brilliant selection of music. I definitely think us oldies out danced the young ones and surprisingly I can still manage to walk today! I will definitely be recommending you.”
Can’t ask for much more than that!
