There are lots of aspects I enjoy when DJ’ing but one of the things that gives me the most pleasure is witnessing the sheer joy on peoples faces when greeting each other at a party – something I get to see a great deal of and never tire of. The past two disco’s had to be amongst the best I have had the pleasure to see as people arrived.
The Friday disco was a 21st birthday party and I reckon there was about 4 generations present which made for a good night. It was hosted at Goals in Portsmouth and it was a lovely evening, sun was shining and everyone was so friendly to me and made me feel so welcome – the birthday girl even took the time to bring me a cone of sweets and her Mother insisted I had two birthday cupcakes which I was more than happy to have given my sweet tooth and love of cupcakes! It was a great night, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the guests all seemed to have a good time too.
On Saturday, I DJ’d a 40th held in a pub in a little village called Sheet, just outside Petersfield. The village is gorgeous, a real old English one and you could feel the history all round the place, a beautiful part of the country and the food at the pub was delicious; I was invited to help myself to some of the pizza on offer which I was more than happy to do! I recommend a trip to the Queens Head in Sheet if you’re ever in the mood for a lovely pub meal. The evening flew by with people socialising outside on the decking and popping inside for a boogie and sing song – another great night was had by all and another disco where I had a smile on my face!
Two great disco’s to celebrate two significant birthdays with genuine affection on display among the guests – I felt privileged to have been able to be a small part of them both.
