FAQ

Before you pay the booking fee to secure the date, I recommend we have a chat first just so we can say hi and you can ask me any questions you may have. After that, I will send you a booking form with all the details for your event. There’s no paperwork for you to complete, it’s just to make sure all the details have been captured correctly and I ask that the booking fee is paid within 14 calendar days. I also ask that the outstanding balance is paid 7 days before the date of your event.

My standard show is 4 metres wide and 3 metres deep. Height is less important but don’t worry if space is an issue as I do have a smaller set up I can use which requires 3 metres width and 3 metres depth. Both set ups require access to a stable power supply to be in close proximity.

Ah, yes, this is a problem, I am afraid. I have a car with a trailer, so parking is essential, as is good access into your venue.

A sound limiter is a device that measures volume, and if the volume exceeds a set limit, it cuts the power. This can cause damage to my equipment, which is why I don’t take bookings at venues with sound limiters.

Once the booking fee has been paid, I will send you an updated booking form confirming receipt and the next time you hear from me will be a month before the date of your event when I will email you to re-confirm all the details. That being said, if you have any questions in the interim, please just ask!

In the extremely unlikely scenario that I can’t make it to your event, I know other DJ’s who I can get to cover me to ensure that your event has a DJ.

Absolutely! In fact, this is something I recommend as you know what music you like. I recommend a list of about 30 to 40 songs and that you highlight any must plays as well as asking you if there is a special song you’d like to end the evening with. I also ask for any songs that are absolute no plays, even if requested.

I’d recommend a start time of 7pm – 7.30pm. Post covid, I am seeing more people drift off from 11 pm, leaving only a few die hards so unless you know your friends well enough to know that they will stay till the absolute end, I’d recommend a finish time of 11 pm – 11.30 pm.

I will be at your venue 90 minutes before the start time to ensure I am set up in plenty of time and ready to start before your guests arrive. For the first part of the evening I will play background music at an appropriate volume so that your guests can relax and mingle without having to shout over the music. At a suitable time, I will increase the volume, say a few words to welcome people and to introduce myself and then the fun really begins!

Don’t worry! Not everyone wants to dance, some people are quite happy to sit and enjoy the music and watch people dance. My only advice would be to let people request songs that they want. People dance to the songs they want to hear so unless it’s an absolute don’t play, let your guests make the odd request throughout the evening.

I am afraid not, sorry! There are a number of reasons for this, but it can be summarised as follows:
• It’s not as good idea as people think.
• Post covid, I don’t let people use my microphone.
• Getting technical now…my speakers have two drivers; for a system to support singing, three drivers are needed. My speakers are designed for the mobile disco and not karaoke.
